Alto Lino, Bajo Lino & Los Cabezos

Alto Lino, Bajo Lino and Los Cabezos are lovely neighborhoods to the North of and just outside of Downtown Boquete. They are on the inner loop road that goes from Downtown to Los Cabezos to Bajo Lino, Alto Lino, Palo Alto and then back to Downtown.  The entire loop with gorgeous scenery takes only about 15 or so minutes to drive.  All of the areas have incredible mountain views and some have river views as well.

Los Cabezos is the area closest to downtown.  It is known for tourist destinations such as the very beautiful Boquete Bees where you can find organic honey and do the tour in the butterfly farm and the Berlina Coffee Station in what we like to call The Garden District.   There are some smaller, somewhat older homes with character and appeal in the hills here above the main loop road as well as some larger, enviable homesteads with houses peaking out from behind the trees. Sometimes houses of all types pop up for sale, though they tend to sell quickly here.

On the “green side” of Boquete Alto Lino, Bajo Lino and El Santuario right next door are situated on the hills overlooking Boquete and known for their stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valley. These areas are popular choices for those looking for a peaceful, serene, and beautiful place to live, yet like the convenience of popping into town in 2-5 minutes by car or a pleasant and pretty stroll of 20 minutes or so.

These areas have easy access to other sublime areas, many with great hiking trails, waterfalls and lush cloud forests at higher elevations further north of downtown such as Alto Quiel, Bajo Mono, and Horqueta. From here, it is easy to head up to some of Boquete’s best natural attractions such as the Lost Waterfalls, the Quetzal Trail, the Pipeline Trail (with huge waterfalls and the sounds of howler monkeys), Los Ladrillos rock climbing wall, the San Ramón Waterfall, Boquete Tree Trek, and the wonderful Finca Lerida.

Alto Lino, Bajo Lino and Los Cabezos, similar to lovely Palo Alto, are graced with the gentle bajareque mist in this microclimate area that helps keep the vegetation lush green year-round. The yards of houses here often have orange trees, bananas, many flowering plants and coffee plants too.
